Vanessa first came into contact with yoga in 2006 during a trip through India. Because of her background in the media world and especially long days of hard work were central, yoga felt like coming home.

In 2009 she decided to follow the 200-hour Ashtanga teacher training with Johan Noorloos. This had a huge impact on how she wanted to organize her future life. Yoga showed her the way.

Not long afterwards she continued her studies in anatomy followed by a 200-hour Yin training. This led to a further deepening and awareness on physical, mental and spiritual level. In India she continued her training in freestyle Vinyasa and Hatha restorative. She also got training in yoga therapy and tension & trauma release (TRE).

At De Nieuwe Yogaschool Vanessa teaches Yin & Yang yoga, in which meditation and mindfulness play a major role. Vanessa hopes to inspire her students to focus their attention within and to come into contact with their body, heart and mind. To discover that as soon as you develop and actually feel love and compassion for yourself, you automatically start to feel this for the other.
