Basic Alignment

In this calm class, ten to fifteen asanas (postures) are treated with the focus on: good body posture (alignment), breathing, strength, suppleness and concentration. This basic flow yoga is lower in tempo and intensity than a standard flow class in which Vinyasa’s are optional. 


The Basic Alignment class starts with the release of thoughts and awareness of breathing. Then the body is warmed up by means of powerful asanas, like sun salutations, warrior positions or traditional standing positions. Then asanas will follow focused on various themes such as balance, energy, back, shoulder and hip openers. The class ends with at least five to ten minutes of rest/meditation. 

This class is ideal for beginners, people with (old injuries) and if you want to learn how to handle your body more gently. Advanced students can use this class to deepen inner themes and to explore personal modifications of asanas. If you are pregnant, please let the teacher know so (s)he can take it into consideration.
