Skadi van Paasschen

Skadi started her passion for movement at a young age. As a child, she learned to experiment with the human body at an early age, which led to her joining the Dutch Gymnastics Youth Team at the age of eleven. After three years of intense training and competitions, she had to let go of her Olympic dream due to various injuries on her left hand.

The many operations and physiotherapy that she had to undergo made her aware of the human body and its healing effect. Her personal experience and the will to help people made her study 1995 Mensendieck and worked for many years as a therapist in various hospitals and rehabilitation clinics.

Skadi took her first yoga class in 2003 and was immediately inspired. In 2004 she completed the Vinyasa yoga teacher training at Yoga Moves (Utrecht) and embarked on a personal journey to Mysore, India. Here she fell in love with Ashtanga Yoga. During that time, she had the opportunity to learn from the various members of the Jois family (Sri K Pattabhi Jois & Saraswathi Jois) and deepened her practice. She also had the privilege of meeting Gabriel Azoulay who taught her the principles of Yin Yoga. "It felt like I had the best of both worlds (the yin and the yang).

In 2006, Skadi Yin decided to study Yoga where she completed Teacher Training with Paul Grilley (500 HR) and Sarah Powers. She participated in various workshops and worked intensively with international teachers such as Saraswathi Rangaswamy, Manju Jois, Dharma Mitra, Radha & Pierre, Kino MacGregor, Russty Wells, Lino Miele, Petri Raisanen and many others.
